Hello everyone!

First of all, for those of you who did not come to the exhibition, there’s now a keyboard version which can be played online http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29996501/WebPlayer/WebPlayer.html .

Keep in mind it is still a bit buggy. I wish there was a good programmer to sit and do some QA with me. But I’ve decided I’m not putting any more time into this project. Instead I’m learning C# from 0, the proper way (it’s actually a book, Head First C#. fun times!)

Anyway have fun with it. If it gets stuck… refresh your browser. As always, comments are welcome.

Okay, so there’s a playable version. It’s pretty nice but still buggy. I’m studying some unity to understand how to re-write the buggy areas. If anyone wants to give it a try, send me an email and I’ll send you a link.

I’ve nearly finished building my arcade cabinet! Here are some pictures

Lots of changes! Unfortunately, the more complex the game is, the more bugs pop up. So I’m doing more and more debugging and less adding of new features. Yes it sucks. I know. So all I have for you this time is a newer screenshot, but I’m proud to say I’m nearly done with the interface! Got better icons and portraits and character names

Other stuff:

Morgana can now shoot a poison apple. It causes a dot and makes mina glow green!
Second jump AKA somersault is in.
Knockdowns are in and they are fun pow-wao!
Most of Mina’s newer animations are in. Looking much better. Still much to work on there though…
Collisions works better. Bah you didn’t know how crappy it was before. Lucky you.

Other notes… I bough an asset off Unity called Playmaker. It’s supposed to make the workflow more efficient and it’s visual-coding basicly. Right now it’s not proving too useful because it’s a bit late for it but it seems pretty good for future projects. The other asset I bought, Sprite Manager 2, is really great, I couldn’t make the game without it. And now for much sadder news. I confess… Due to stress and lack of time for actual games or even a TV show, I’ve started playing the Zynga games. I can’t say I love it but they do keep me awake and focused. Colorful images yay! with stuff to click – double yay! Man I can’t wait till this project is over and I can play real games…

Okay so I’m not giving away my alpha version yet… But! I am becoming more and more proud of it

The bestest part so far is that Morgana, the green witch, can now fly. It’s fun! I should make a game based on flight sometime. Other new stuff:

The joystick and buttons controllers I ordered have arrived! They’re looking sweet although it’s not as simple as I thought to set them up.
The promised Stop-Mo interface is integrated and animated now.
Combo’s are in, they work, and not too difficult to perform.
Finished animation stage.

There’s a new build!

Here are some additions:

New char – Morgana
Punches!
Character reactions – hurt when hit, dance when won
Impact – effects happen in the right frame and not at the end of animation
Menu system – Main menu and in-game menu, plus pause (still a bit buggy there)
Score system – counting of wins, and resetting of the stage.
General cleanliness – auto-destruction of unused items, dynamically-written scripts for character control, for future implementation of character selection
Last but not least – the background is animated Yay!

So, I won’t be uploading a version cause it’s not ready for testing yet. But! Here’s a screenshot

A little side trip to Coral land… yes starting to make a second set. I have to push that as well. Plenty of animations done, I’ll program them in during the break, should be fun

And hopefully will finish the set by then too. Here’s a sneak peak of the corals detail. Hope you like !

Programming Tasks

Warning: No game update ahead!

I’ve decided I won’t post any game versions until I have one that is fun and without any major bugs.

Instead I’m updating programming stuff to do, it’s mostly for me. Yes boring yada yada…

Stuff I added:

Fixed jumping animation to corrospond to gravity.
Fixed clean animation switch when landing.
Improved gravity to be more life-like
Improved sprite size so they show better graphics
Added a second character – Morgana and her Walk animation.
Did some animations… Morgana Stance/Walk/Claw Attack, Better Mina Run.

Yes! We’re doing versions now Version 0 means it’s in alpha testing, and you’re it yippee
